Q 'N A - Do or Don't? Should I exhibit my art in restaurants and shops?

Hi lovely,

The question of today is:

Should I show my works in a shop or restaurant when starting out?
How do I get into more artsy spaces?

It think especially in the beginning you should use every opportunity you can get to show your work!

If that means having an exhibition in a cafe, shop or restaurant, go for it! Try to build up connections in the art scene too. Apply to juried shows, go to gallery openings, go to events in local art centers. Try to find the creative scene in your city.

After you build up some connections, see if you can put together your own exhibition, maybe together with other artists or try to get into group shows. Just talk to people about the fact that you would like to exhibit your art. Ask exhibiting artists you get to know where you could ask to get into a show.

Don't stop trying to get into more artsy spaces.

Eventually, when you got a few group shows in galleries, art centers or other spaces you can edit your CV, so you don’t need those exhibitions in restaurants on your list anymore.

But until that, show your art! Let people know you’re out there! We all need to start somewhere!
