For all visual creatives I recommend starting this mix of platforms with your own blog, as a homebase for all your marketing activities. Then you can add in social media, guest blogging, speaking engagements, webinars, interviews and other media in order to spread the word about your creative business. But your blog will be the place where you connect all those media in one place.
You don't need to blog every single day!
With posting once a week you can build up a blog that really works for your creative business.
Keep in mind…unless blogging is your business, a business blog doesn't need to be a daily blog.
If you post once a week about information that is directly connected to your creative business, that is a good starting point for all your online marketing efforts.
On your blog and on all other media you’re going to use, you should write and share about topics that are connected to your creative adventure.
Let people know…
what is going on behind the scenes
show them where your inspiration comes from
what is going to be in your shop soon
show them your creative work, the process of creating it and everything that is connected to your creative process.
Every now and then, tell them a little bit about your personal life in order to connect with them on a more personal level.
And, of course, the most important thing is to promote your freebie, because the goal of all these activities in the online world is to grow your list, in order to increase your income.
So grow that darn list!
