Everybody is hanging out in different places

Why you should not only use your blog in order to grow your list, but why also be on other platforms as well.

So the thing with social media, guest posting and other activities is that you use those platforms in order to reach new people. Everybody is hanging out in different places and by utilizing only one place those people would have to find your blog or website directly.

And because this scenario is a little uncommon, especially when you’re just starting out, you want to be out there as much as possible.

That way, you can create as many touch points with your audience as possible. From those touch points you can then help them find their way to your website, blog and email list.

But because we're all human and don't have a ton of time to do this, we need to focus on a few platforms in order to make the most out of them, but keep us sane at the same time!

That's why I recommend you focus on your blog, one main social media channel and then two other social media channels.

Those additional social media channels are only used to enhance your main platform.

I recommend that my clients find their own mix in using Facebook, Instagram and Periscope, as I’ve had the experience that, for creators, those platforms offer the best chances to reach people in a highly visual and creative manner.

Every now and then I also recommend to get out there, out of your own comfort zone and choose another platform.

You can do this through guest blogging, being interviewed, participating in a webinar or doing a project with someone else. There are countless ways to be out there, outside your own channels, so be creative and search for the right thing for you!

By being a guest on someone else’s platform, you will be exposed to a whole new audience. If they enjoy you and your information, then they might check out your website, blog or social media channels.

To wrap it up:

Make sure you’re active on your blog

Choose one main social media platform to post on regularly

Add in two secondary social media platforms

And every now and then, do a guest post or interview on someone else’s platform

And of course…never forget about your email list and freebie! Keep promoting it on all different platforms! Comment below if you have any questions!

Xxx,

Kerstin
